Nail and Skin Conditions

Nail and Skin Conditions
Why do foot skin and nail problems happen?
Our feet work hard every single day. They are rubbed inside shoes, constantly under pressure, and often exposed to moisture and dirt. It is no wonder that issues like thick or discoloured nails, dry cracked heels, painful corns, or itchy skin are so common.
When you walk or run, your foot can take on forces several times your body weight. That's a big job for a relatively small part of the body.

Not sure if it is time to see a podiatrist?
If your feet are sore, uncomfortable, or just not feeling right, you don't have to put up with it. At Saltfleet Clinic, our caring podiatrists are here to help. Your podiatrist will treat the problem to give you relief quickly and support you over time to stop it from coming back.
Some issues, like fungal nails or warts, take a little longer to clear up, but we'll guide you through the process.

What happens at your first appointment?
It all starts with understanding what's going on. Your podiatrist will take a close look, figure out what's causing the problem, and create a plan that suits you. They might use professional tools to remove painful spots gently, recommend treatments or creams, or give you tips to keep your feet healthy at home.

Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to see us - just book in when you're ready. If you have a care plan through Medicare, you'll need a GP referral to claim rebates.

This can happen to all ages. If foot skin or nail issues are getting in the way of your day, seeing a podiatrist can help bring lasting comfort and healthier feet.
