GUIDE to COVID-19 Vaccinations @ Saltfleet Clinic
When booking your appointment please note the following:
Please bring your Medicare card to your appointment.
This clinic is for rapid vaccination of the over 60’s community with the AstraZeneca Covid19 vaccine. Appointments are for five minutes only. If you are unsure about wanting to receive this vaccine, please make a longer appointment with your GP to discuss.
Do not schedule any other vaccines in the 7 days before or after the appointment.
Please do not schedule your appointment in the few days before any important events or unavoidable strenuous work. Up to 70% of people will experience “normal” vaccine side effects such as fatigue, aches, chills and a sore arm in the few days following its administration.
Swollen axillary glands may cause false alarm on routine screening mammogram for six weeks after receiving the vaccine. Please raise this when booking a routine screening mammogram.
If you are planning to travel to a remote area, be aware that the rare but serious vaccine associated thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, TTS, tends to occur 4-28 days after vaccination.
